Art Workshop at La Colmena de La Vida

Located in El Hatillo, Venezuela, La Colmena de la Vida is a home for vulnerable children. In 2010, Associate Director Ángela Vera Lefeld invited me to collaborate on an art workshop initiative.

A group of volunteers joined the project to provide personalized assistance to each child’s needs, including Prof. Eduardo López, Prof. Luis Giraldo, and a team of volunteer designers and artists such as Luis Lestón, Nicole Bigio, Juan Mercerón, Juan García, Lena Pagliarani, and Alexandra Vivas. Together, we developed a series of creative experiences for the children to explore their imagination and foster personal growth.

We aimed to make a meaningful difference for at-risk children by working with local communities on exploratory activities. These activities ranged from nature observation to drawing, ceramics, and origami exercises, all aimed at developing the imagination. We collaborated closely with the institutional leaders to create an unforgettable experience to inspire the children to discover and empower their creativity, talents, and skills.
